The fellahs over at Toy2r just filled my inbox with FAKIR's upcoming Mini Bunee Qee series set to drop soon. I don't have a release date, hopefully sometime before NYCC, but I'll update once there is something solid to report. I've wanted a FAKIR custom for a while now, so I have to thank Toy2R for making them accessible since they should retail around $28 based on previous Mini Qee releases.... [ read more ]

This info from Toy2r just hit my inbox right before I was about to head out the door, but I had to make sure I made a quick post about this badass collaboration. I've been a big fan of Fakir for a while now, and like JPK's Toy2r series, I couldn't be more excited to see this happening. Looks like there will be a variety of Mini Qee releases starting with a Mini Bunee Qee in August with others to follow. Update on our book 'Deconstructing Designer Toy'Potentially looking for new publisher to speed up release date
For those people unfamiliar with what I'm talking about, back in November I made a newspost calling for artists to participate in an upcoming book we wanted to produce titled 'Deconstructing Designer Toys'. In this book, toy customizers would submit some of their work, and then as part of the submission they would describe the process for one of their pieces ... triumphs, difficulties, etc. Hopefully, making this a bit more than a typical toys/portfolio book with pretty pictures. We put the book together in about 6-7 weeks from start to finish, in order to hit a July 2012/SDCC release date. News is back with the launch of Must Know Monday's #mkmFeatured Artists: Brian Ahlbeck, Fakir, Strawberryluna & Amanda Louise Spayd
There has been a bit of a drop-off in the Newswire as of late. We suffered the loss of Trustpigs pumping out daily posts, combined with Blake and I trying to get conversations off the ground. Thankfully my wife and I will be stepping up to cover that gap. Our new release format for our featured artists will be every monday morning, which we're calling #mkm (must know mondays).
