UW80V Iron Mako was the U.S. Governments answer to the German U-Boat. It was built in 1939, and the first one was used in March 1940. It's speed was twice as fast as the U-Boat but couldn't maneuver as well. The Mako had many collisions with rocks, boats, U.S. Navy ships, and even other Makos. The tough armor kept the Mako in one piece but usually injured the pilots. There were only 50 produced. Most of them were destroyed, and a few were sold to Museums. 20 of them are unaccounted for. This one was found in a Barn in the country side of France.
