Another late call-out for our featured artists. They've been up for quite a while so we'll be switching them around soon, but I need to write up why we chose them and why you should know them. Anyway, on to our featured artists:

Featured for Designer Toys: Gary Baseman

Gary baseman had the recent release of his new vinyl series, Toby’s Secret Society, along with his The High Priest of Toby both by Kidrobot. While we have some of Gary's work in the site, it barely begins to scratch the surface. If you're interested in his new series it's still available up on kidrobot.com along with his High Priest Toby .

Featured for Custom Toys: A Little Stranger

The first stuff I saw of Holly's was her custom for the Mini-Tea Tour, and another amazing piece for the Custom Sketchbot Show 2. However, what sealed the deal for me was her latest Be@rbrick custom for the Hang Gang's Icons's Show. When she isn't customizing like crazy she makes some pretty awesome guys called Cavey's which you can check out on her site at Hey Cavey.

Featured for Art Prints: Tara McPherson

Tara has been a prolific rock poster designer for years, but a lot of people I talk to in the toy community seem to only know her for toys, much like Frank Kozik ... kids today. Anyway, I wasn't aware of the sheer volume of prints Tara has put out over the years until one of her fans dumped about 100+ into the site. Recently she's started up The Cotton Candy Machine out in Brooklyn, which was a fun trek last month and if you're in the area you should check it out.

Featured for Original Art: Ron English

How good is Ron English? Well some of our users mistook his oil painting of Jason Freeny's Lucy Exposed and Dissected with the actual figure Jason made. His recent show Seasons in Supurbia at Corey Helford Gallery is yet another reason I'm upset I'm not on the west coast yet. In fact I'm going to drop Bomb It into the DVD player and get back to coding.
