A late post for the 'Featured Artists' today but I still made it on the #ff Follow Friday schedule. Blake and I have been busy with some new features, including some new mods which we'll be introducing in the next post. Blake is busting his ass on Conversations and I'm adding new widgets and beginning front-end code on Marketplace after weeks of sketching wireframes. So excited for these features. Anyway, on to our featured artists:
So I originally remember seeing a handful of threeA toys for sale on the Kidrobot forums years ago when I started collecting. Though it wasn't until I started adding items on Trampt that I began to realize the depth of the Ashley Wood/threeA library. Their fans, The Legion, are an unstoppable force not to be messed with. The reason I picked Ashley this week was because of his two recent releases, Bot Sniper Punter and ZAKU, and if it weren't for the $330 price tag I would have picked up an army of Zaku. You can check out more of Ashley's work at ashleywoodartist.com and follow him on twitter RealAshleyWood.
I personally love Squink's customs, and I was really glad to see his Ken The Mysterious Tigrrr and all the custom Ken Dunny's that came after. Whenever one of his customs pops up for sale I never seem to catch it. He was also part of the Icons show a month ago, and I believe his custom Be@rbrick is still for sale at his store if you can't manage to get one of his other smaller customs. You can check out more of Squink's work at squinky.co.uk and follow him on twitter squink.
I've been seeing Angryblue, Justin Kamerer, work for a while on a variety of print blogs, and I have bought a few of his Weapons of Mass Creation for myself and gifted a few to friends. I'm personally not familiar with his history, but with every new piece of his that comes out, I pretty much flip a coin as to whether or not to pull the trigger on a purchase. However, the number of prints I've bought recently and lack of wall space has forced me to cut back over the last month. You can check out more of Angryblue's work at angryblue.com and follow him on twitter crackheadpress.
Audrey's whimsical style carries through all her pieces and I've been a fan for quite a while, though I think Blake has a bit of an art crush on her. Maybe someday we can get him one of her paintings if Trampt starts making some serious money. :) Not only is her work featured in this month's Juxtapoz magazine, but she's on the cover. I'm not sure when she's got a print coming up but you should definitely try and pick one up. You can check out more of Audrey's work at audrey-kawasaki.com and follow her on twitter audreykawasaki.
Blake and I started Trampt back in 2010.. We love pouring all our free energy into more features, and soon we'll have... [more]
