Cam Rackam is a resident of Southern California. He received a BFA from Cal State Fullerton and in his senior year was voted President of the Fullerton University Artists. In 2009, Cam became the gallery director at the Congregation Gallery in Hollywood, where he both curates as well as participates in the events. Cam is also the owner and founder of Blood Oil entertainment group and merchandise. He has made lots of art for many bands, clothing and skateboard companies, record labels, and private commissions over the years, which recently include Avenged Sevenfold, The Dirty Heads, and guitar god John 5. Cam’s focus has always been gallery shows. In 2006, he headlined his first event, Marked for the Kingdom of the Dead at Cafe Tu Tu Tango, in Orange CA. In 2007, he also headlined South of Heaven at Gods Heros in Costa Mesa and “...the message in blood” art show at the Syndicate in Long Beach, where to his surprise, people began flying across the country to see his work. A month later, he was the the very first featured artist at United C.A.T.’s grand opening at the Koos Art Center in Long Beach. In November of 2008, Cam premiered his first solo event at the Hyaena Gallery in Burbank entitled “Tooth and Nail” where the paintings nearly sold out over the course of the following year. Currently he is working on a new of show steeped in Classical Mythology. Details on this event will be announced soon, but it will certainly be his biggest, most exciting event to date.
