About this work
The image displays a collection of tarot cards arranged in a grid. Each card has unique artwork and symbols, representing various themes and archetypes commonly found in tarot decks.Raised by the military and monitored by men in white coats until he was 16. Doktor A has always scribbled monsters. "You will never make a living drawing little men" said a teacher once. They were nearly right. He has to draw, design and build little men to make a living. These dubious skills have seen him work in theatre, Tv, advertising, magazines, toy design, merchandising and the music industry. He lives under a hill in the UK. From there he monitors the world's off-kilter-culture and produces his dark twisted dreams. Character driven clashes of urban pop culture, classic children's stories and neo-Victorian industrial neverlands. Born into the greyness of England at the end of the Seventies, by the age of four Jon-Paul Kaiser knew that what he wanted to do in life was a draw. From that point he rarely strayed from that path; scribbling and doodling his way through School, College and University. After working with Porlzilla, Jon-Paul decided to go it alone concentrating at first on the toy customization scene, building up a name and strong reputation for himself with his stark Black & White custom style, influenced by comic book art, film noir & Ukiyo-e prints. This lead to him being approached by established toy producers for designs for their platform toys. Principally amongst these are Toy2R who have released numerous JPK Platforms. J★RYU, AKA the Purdy Supremacy, is an east coast-based designer/sculptor/artist focused primarily on exploring the themes of life and death and more intriguingly, what lies beyond. Primarily recognized for his signature Forest of Sorrows series, with its emotive, eerie and ghostly themes, J★RYU has garnered an avid following of fans who eagerly look forward to seeing each subsequent new piece and how the accompanying narratives add to the ongoing story. In his career, J★RYU has worked on projects for clients such as Marvel Ent., Sony Ericsson, Wonderbra, AT&T, NCAA Final Four, Columbia Pictures, TOPPS, Mia Hamm, Michael Crichton, IBM, Slim Jim and more and has shown in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, NYC, Nebraska, Washington DC, Richmond, Miami, Chapel Hill, Thailand, Singapore and the Phillipines. He is the Gentleman Ghost of the world famous Army of Snipers. The ultimate prophecy of Arcane Divination is finally revealed with the highly-anticipated release of the Arcane Divination: The Lost Cards Dunny Series. Artists Camilla d’Errico, Doktor A, Jon-Paul Kaiser, Tokyo Jesus and J*RYU have created new designs to complete tarot’s Major Arcana, first brought to life in Arcane Divination Dunny Series. New figures including The Emperor (Doktor A), The Chariot (Jon-Paul Kaiser), Strength (Camilla d’Errico), Justice (Tokyo Jesus) and The Star (J*RYU) were all meticulously created to reflect the spirit of Tarot, as well as incorporate seamlessly to the mythology. In addition, each artist has created a wholly, brand-new archetypal concept in the vein of Tarot to further expand our quest for understanding our existence, and eventual destiny. Test your fate and grab this highly anticipated series right now from Kidrobot. Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is a neologism for the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using ink-jet printing. The word "giclée" is derived from the French language word "le gicleur" meaning "nozzle", or more specifically "gicler" meaning "to squirt, spurt, or spray". It was coined in 1991 by Jack Duganne, a printmaker working in the field, to represent any inkjet-based digital print used as fine art. The intent of that name was to distinguish commonly known industrial "Iris proofs" from the type of fine art prints artists were producing on those same types of printers. The name was originally applied to fine art prints created on Iris printers in a process invented in the early 1990s but has since come to mean any high quality ink-jet print and is often used in galleries and print shops to denote such prints. Camilla d’Errico is an Italo-Canadian artist who has been making waves in the fine art and comic industries with her manga-influenced style. Despite having amassed a wide artistic background in animation, fine arts, illustration and graphic design her passion has always been in comics, notably manga. Camilla resides in Vancouver, BC, where she continues her work in comics, creating her acclaimed original series – Tanpopo – based on literature. Ever the prolific artist, Camilla lives the double life of comic artist/creator and Pop Surrealist painter. Her ability to seamlessly weave comic art and manga with surrealist elements has allowed her to attain great renown in her main fields, while expanding her horizons to include fashion, merchandise and collectible designer art toys.
