The Kidrobot Mascot, often referred to as “Bot,” is the emblematic figure of Kidrobot, a pioneer in the designer toy industry founded in 2002 by Paul Budnitz. This character embodies the brand’s fusion of art and collectible toys, serving as a canvas for various artistic interpretations. Bot is characterized by its minimalist, robotic design with a rounded head and antenna. Over the years, Kidrobot has released multiple versions of Bot, each showcasing unique themes and collaborations. The Kidrobot Mascot has become a symbol of the designer toy movement, representing the intersection of contemporary art and collectible culture. Its adaptability has allowed artists and designers to imprint their unique styles, making it a beloved figure among collectors and art enthusiasts alike. Daniel Fleres was born in 1982 in Walnut Creek, CA. As a kid, he was fascinated with saturday morning cartoons, video games, comic book super heroes and the chance to work in the fields that inspired his creativity. After high school, Daniel moved to San Diego to earn an AA in Graphic Design from Platt College. Daniel returned to the bay area after graduating to start a fine art career. The last six years, he has since exhibited and curated art shows all around the world as well as contributed art for published books. Daniel is currently working on his first toy line, “The Swanicorn” to be released later this May and learning to tattoo. Clutter Gallery is a leading contemporary art gallery specializing in the vibrant world of designer toys and lowbrow art. Located in the artistic community of Beacon, New York (home to the world famous Dia museum), Clutter Gallery has established itself as a premier destination for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Since its inception in 2011, the gallery has been dedicated to showcasing the work of both established and emerging artists who push the boundaries of pop culture, street and low-brow art. In addition to its dynamic exhibitions, Clutter Gallery also houses an impressive permanent collection of Designer Toys, curated by the team behind its renowned print publication. This collection serves as a testament to the gallery’s deep-rooted connection to the designer toy movement and its commitment to preserving and celebrating this unique art form. A group art exhibition of colorful works, including contributions by Camilla d'Errico, Chima Group, Cuddly Rigor Mortis, Daniel Fleres, Grelin Machin, Haus of Boz, Hiroshi Yoshii, iROC, Jared Andrew Schorr, Jenn and Tony Bot, Jon Knox, Jordan Elise Perme, MAp-MAp, One-Eyed Girl, Peter Kato, Scarecrowoven, Tasha Zimich, Taylored Curiosities, Team Kitten, and Wizard Skull. Color Theory's opening reception will be free to the public and take place on September 13th from 6-9pm. All works will be on display until November 2nd, 2014.
