BB Hug

Self-produced art toys are designer collectibles created and manufactured independently by the artist or small teams without the backing of a large toy company or mass-market brand. These toys are often highly personal, artistic expressions and are usually made in limited runs. Key Characteristics include independent creation where the artist is in control of the entire process from concept, sculpting, and painting to production and packaging. These are usually made in small batches, often 10–100 pieces, which adds to their rarity, made using materials like resin, sofubi (Japanese soft vinyl), or 3D-printed components. A few months ago, we were were browsing through Behance when Hug the Killer caught my eye. We thought the character look really amazing and it wil be great to produce it as an designer figure. We approached Nikopicto and they are as excited as us to make this happen. The story of Hug the Killer is as such, while his body language is very friendly and welcoming, even to the point of opening his arms to hug you, he has a set of razor sharp teeth that is opening into a grin. It makes you wonder if he indeed is genuinely happy to meet you or are you simply his dinner? We feel that this actually mimics life, in terms of your relationship with the next person. Are they genuine? Or are they simply using you? Hug the Killer defines the moment when you have all these uncertainties and yet you find yourself slowly walking towards Hug, in truth, you will never know the answer.
