Mondo is pop culture brand, built for collectors. We work with incredible artists who share our passions to create posters, soundtracks, toys, and more – products that share a rare, unexpectedly vivid and timeless quality. Mondo humbly began as a quasi-bootleg t-shirt shop located in the basement storage hallway of a single-screen movie theater. In 2007, Mondo began working with major artists and studios to create beautifully designed licensed products. We started with posters, then soundtrack LPs, and finally toys and other items, and have blossomed into the ever-expanding hydra of entertainment collectibles that we are today. In 2022, we joined the Funko-verse, helping us to continue bringing fans and friends our curated approach to pop culture. Mondo, the collectible art division of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, will feature the iconic "Universal Monsters" for its next gallery show, which runs from October 19 through November 10, featuring both prints and original works of art from dozens of world-renowned artists including Martin Ansin, Rick Baker, Jason Edmiston, JC Richard, Drew Struzan, Ken Taylor, Kevin Tong and many more. The gallery opening on October 19 will be from 7:00 - 10:00pm with regular hours to follow for the show's duration. The Mondo Gallery is located at 4115 Guadalupe St. in Austin, TX. Scott Campbell (Scott C) is a maker of paintings, illustrations, comics, kid’s books and video games. He studied illustration at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, focusing on comic and children’s book illustration. Soon after graduating, he began at Lucas Learning as concept artist on children’s video games. Four years later, he joined Double Fine productions as Art Director on such games as the critically acclaimed Psychonauts and Brutal Legend. Alongside this career in games, he has published numerous comics and created paintings that have appeared in galleries and publications around the world. Some of his most notable projects include the GREAT SHOWDOWNS series, “Igloo Head and Tree Head” series, Double Fine Action Comics, Hickee Comics, the children’s book’s Zombie In Love and East Dragon, West Dragon, and Psychonauts and Brutal Legendwith Double Fine Productions. The book Amazing Everything: The Art of Scott C collects many of his paintings over the past few years. Scott lives in New York City. Watercolor is a water-based painting medium characterized by its transparency and luminosity, achieved through finely ground pigments mixed with a binder like gum arabic and water, applied to a surface with a brush.
