This collection serves as a testament to the gallery’s deep-rooted connection to the designer toy movement and its commitment to preserving and celebrating this unique art form. The Foomi is a miniature version of Kidrobot’s customizable vinyl figures, designed to inspire creativity and artistic expression. Standing at approximately 2 inches tall, Foomi features movable joints and a smooth surface, making it an ideal canvas for customization. Artists and enthusiasts can personalize Foomi using various mediums such as paint, markers, stickers, or other decorative elements. This DIY approach allows for a wide range of unique and personalized designs, contributing to the vibrant culture of designer toys. A group art exhibition of colorful works, including contributions by Camilla d'Errico, Chima Group, Cuddly Rigor Mortis, Daniel Fleres, Grelin Machin, Haus of Boz, Hiroshi Yoshii, iROC, Jared Andrew Schorr, Jenn and Tony Bot, Jon Knox, Jordan Elise Perme, MAp-MAp, One-Eyed Girl, Peter Kato, Scarecrowoven, Tasha Zimich, Taylored Curiosities, Team Kitten, and Wizard Skull. Color Theory's opening reception will be free to the public and take place on September 13th from 6-9pm. All works will be on display until November 2nd, 2014.
