Back in the 1900s, deep in Alaska, a group of miners were blasting dirt, ice and what not searching for precious metals. Instead they discovered an unknown species of dwarf T-Rex. The miners' dynamite stirred something in this cantankerous critter and he developed a taste for it. Soon their entire stash had been grabbed up. When he couldn't have any he'd get mad and bellow so loud that they decided to name him RAAAR! Clutter Gallery is a leading contemporary art gallery specializing in the vibrant world of designer toys and lowbrow art. Located in the artistic community of Beacon, New York (home to the world famous Dia museum), Clutter Gallery has established itself as a premier destination for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Since its inception in 2011, the gallery has been dedicated to showcasing the work of both established and emerging artists who push the boundaries of pop culture, street and low-brow art. In addition to its dynamic exhibitions, Clutter Gallery also houses an impressive permanent collection of Designer Toys, curated by the team behind its renowned print publication. This collection serves as a testament to the gallery’s deep-rooted connection to the designer toy movement and its commitment to preserving and celebrating this unique art form. Sekure D lives and works in Melbourne, Australia. In 2006 Sekure was losing himself in his sneaker addiction and in the ultimate attempt to stand out begun to customize his own sneakers in order to have the most limited of limited releases, the 1 of a kind. What began as a hobby quickly evolved into a part time job painting shoes in his bedroom to the beginnings of a new full time career in design. Sekure cites his love for graffiti, sneakers, comics and cinema as the main driving forces behind the creation of his distinctive style. As well as painting on sneakers Sekure features his artwork on canvas and in conjunction with his three solo shows in Australia and New Zealand he has had work featured in numerous group shows and galleries such as the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia, and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. During this time Sekure has worked on two collaboration sneakers with the skate footwear brand Globe and been featured in a variety of magazines, websites, newspapers and books including Sneaker Freaker, Sole Collector, The Age and ‘Custom Kicks’. Sekure works tirelessly evolving his style and skill set to ensure there is always “The Custom RAAAR! Show” is a custom RAAAR! group exhibition created in collaboration with Dynamite Rex.
