About this Manufacturer

Pretty In Plastic Inc. was founded by Julie B., and is operated in the great city of Los Angeles. We are Toy Couture, from design to production, we create sculptures of all shapes and sizes…. and materials. Many artists and companies have great ideas and don’t know where to start, some want to make just one piece, some want to make limited runs and are not looking to make thousands in China, and some have a vision for a product or environment they want to create. We want to fill this need from creating prototypes and limited editions to larger scale pieces and installations. The possibilities are great and it can be done… in this country. We have also developed unique techniques that use recycled materials in our casting process, decreasing the use of raw materials, and we look forward to exploring more options and sharing them with you. Plastic can take on the personality of wood, bronze, glowing colors, sparkling candy, and platforms for artists to paint. Our services are of the highest quality, from sculpting the tiniest little pinky toe to creating Castle Greyskull in a Gallery space. We work closely with our clients to capture their unique aesthetic. Born in Los Angeles in 1978, Tristan began pursuing street art as a teenager, painting everything from walls to billboards in the urban landscape wherever he lived, including London, Detroit and Brooklyn. After growing up on comic books, graffiti and skateboard culture, Tristan designed his first toy for Fisher Price at 18 years old and began working as an artist full-time. He has since become a driving force in the world of ‘Art Toys’, designing the Dunny and Munny figures for Kidrobot. Shortly after studying at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Tristan founded Thunderdog Studios, of which he was the President and Creative Director for 10 years. Thunderdog Studios regularly designs and consults for clients such as Nike, Disney and Barack Obama on projects that span the globe across all mediums. In 2012, Tristan moved back to his childhood home of Los Angeles to pursue his paintings and large scale mural projects full-time. Tristan’s work can be seen in galleries around the world and in the permanent collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art (MOMA).
