About this Artist

Jo Riis-Hansen is an experienced goldsmith and the co-founder, with Line Hallberg, of the Danish jewelry label Line&Jo. Passionate about their profession, Line Hallberg and Jo Riis-Hansen leave a distinguishable mark of intelligent artistic refinement on every single piece of jewellery. Owing to their ability to balance fast-paced fashion references with the everlasting appeal of fine jewellery, the signature pieces from the two designers are characterized by graphic simplicity, softly sculpted romanticism or gloriously wild diamond extravaganza. Line Hallberg and Jo Riis-Hansen have not looked back since the launch of Line&Jo in 2007. Drawing aesthetic influences from modern day art, architecture and pop culture as well as from classical and contemporary expressions of female beauty and sensuality, every new Line&Jo collection is a tribute to the ancient craft of jewellery-making. Their Copenhagen based label has received widespread international acclaim, and is already a much sought-after symbol of contemporary Scandinavian design at its very best. The toy is based on a rabbit figure with distinctive tubular ears. The origin of the name Dunny came from a combination of street slang and one of the early "Devil Bunny" prototypes. The Dunny is sold in four sizes - 3", 5", 8" and 20". The toy has three points of articulation; a 360 degree rotational head and two arms. An artist card or sticker is also included with the 3" Dunny from a series. Most 3" Dunnys and some 8" Dunnys are normally sold as "blind assortment"; the figure is packaged inside a sealed foil wrapper, such that the buyer is not able to see which figure and accessories they are buying. Sealing the figure prevents people from opening and peeking in the boxes and buying only the figures they want. Most Dunnys are packaged inside a clear plastic bag in addition to the foil wrapper. In the second-hand market, this assures the buyer that the article was never on display and is in a "new" condition. With the success of vinyl toys as a medium for expression, many fans and artists have put their own design onto blank Dunnys. Customized designer toy for Copenhagen art show. For this event a handful of selected artists and celebrities were invited to customize a 20" vinyl Dunny from Kid Robot in New York. The toys were all displayed at Gallerie Asbæk in Copenhagen and later sold to raise money for charity.
