About this Manufacturer

Created in 2006 as a manufacturing resource for artists and small companies, SOLID Industries, Inc. is a one-stop shop for getting high quality, limited edition products manufactured and delivered. Founded by Jeremy Madl (aka MAD) the company serves as a means to product a variety of his own products, but also as a service to his friends and commercial clients. SOLID allows him to not only offer the design and development end of a project, but the project management and manufacturing side as well. Going from a concept sketch all the way to a final product on a shelf is now possible. SOLID is also a work for hire resource, if a design is already done and is looking to be taken to the next level SOLID can help. Already working with several different clients on a variety of projects, we work one on one with each client to assure their input is injected throughout the process. The end result being a solid project that reflects the passion and hard work of all who helped bring it to market. Frank Kozik was born in Madrid, Spain in 1962 . At the age of 14 he moved to the United States and settled in Austin, Texas. Credited with single handedly reviving the “lost” art of the concert poster, his creative career rose largely out of his enthusiasm for Austin’s growing underground punk rock scene in the mid-eighties. Starting with black and white flyers for friends’ bands posted on telephone poles, his reputation grew as an artist whose work was graphically compelling as well as culturally gripping. Kozik is based in San Francisco, California, where he produces artwork, toys and graphic design. He formerly managed his own record label, Man’s Ruin Records (1995-2001). Under which, he released over 220 singles and full length albums including the first Queens of the Stone Age single. He has produced artwork for a diverse range of musicians such as Pearl Jam, the Butthole Surfers, Green Day, Neil Young, Sonic Youth, the Melvins and many more. In 1996, he directed Soundgarden’s “Pretty Noose” music video. In 2001 Kozik left the music business and devoted himself full time to fine art and the newly emerging Vinyl Art Toy movement. Since 2001 he has designed over 300 separate toys and art MADL is a designer art toy platform created by Jeremy “MAD” Madl, one of the pioneers of the urban vinyl toy movement. First released in 2002, MADL figures are known for their bold, blocky shape, clean lines, and graffiti-inspired aesthetics. They were among the first American-designed vinyl toys to gain popularity, bridging the gap between street art, hip-hop culture, and designer collectibles. The MAD*L figure typically has a distinctive angular form with a broad head and a compact body, providing a great canvas for artists to customize. Over the years, the platform has featured numerous limited-edition releases, artist collaborations, and hand-painted customs, making it a highly sought-after collectible in the art toy scene.
