About this Manufacturer

Created in 2006 as a manufacturing resource for artists and small companies, SOLID Industries, Inc. is a one-stop shop for getting high quality, limited edition products manufactured and delivered. Founded by Jeremy Madl (aka MAD) the company serves as a means to product a variety of his own products, but also as a service to his friends and commercial clients. SOLID allows him to not only offer the design and development end of a project, but the project management and manufacturing side as well. Going from a concept sketch all the way to a final product on a shelf is now possible. SOLID is also a work for hire resource, if a design is already done and is looking to be taken to the next level SOLID can help. Already working with several different clients on a variety of projects, we work one on one with each client to assure their input is injected throughout the process. The end result being a solid project that reflects the passion and hard work of all who helped bring it to market. MADL is a designer art toy platform created by Jeremy “MAD” Madl, one of the pioneers of the urban vinyl toy movement. First released in 2002, MADL figures are known for their bold, blocky shape, clean lines, and graffiti-inspired aesthetics. They were among the first American-designed vinyl toys to gain popularity, bridging the gap between street art, hip-hop culture, and designer collectibles. The MAD*L figure typically has a distinctive angular form with a broad head and a compact body, providing a great canvas for artists to customize. Over the years, the platform has featured numerous limited-edition releases, artist collaborations, and hand-painted customs, making it a highly sought-after collectible in the art toy scene. Andrew was born in England in 1978. His family moved several times until settling into the eastern US in the mid 1980's. He has lived and worked in New York since 1996. Andrew's work spans a wide spectrum of mediums from illustrations and paintings to toys and sculptures. Much of his work is brought together by a sense of humor that often belies a more serious and sombre message. His work has been featured in solo and group gallery shows from LA to Paris and has been covered by publications such as The New York Times and Wired.
