About this Platform
Chomp originated as a quick sketch by Connor McConnell in high school and was later brought to life by animator Benjamin Su. We began releasing pins and t shirts in June of 2018 and our first Chomp vinyl figures debuted in December that same year. We're continuing to grow as a company and expand into new unique products. We firmly believe in collaborating with talented artists and we'll always look into new opportunities to do so. bio raised by feral robot wolves in the backwoods of northeastern pennsylvania and nourished on a steady diet of comic books, arnold schwarzenegger movies and swedish fish, tom whalen has a high-pitched, metallic voice in his head that compels him to endlessly churn out all sorts of vectorized madness. infatuated with all things giant, japanese and city-destroying, tom is a confessed monster junkie who cannot wait for earth to be overrun by either zombies, werewolves or vampires so that he can field test the wooden-stake-firing chain gun that he’s been working on in his basement for the past 38 or so years. he also adores kittens. introduced to graphic art by the likes of ditko, lee, mcfarlane, and simonson at an early age, tom formally studied illustration and design at kutztown university before working as a graphic designer and an editorial illustrator. he has recently completed projects for the black keys, topps, mondo, idw comics, the hub, wired, scientific american, pc world and nicktoons. Abominable Toys creates original characters, designer toys, and other limited edition merchandise. Home of Chomp the fun loving fluffy yeti. New York Comic Con (NYCC) is the biggest comic and pop culture event on the East Coast. From meeting celebrities to surprise appearances, to comic creators from every corner of the globe to the top anime, cosplay, and gaming stars … it’s always one hell of a 4-day weekend Toho art toys are high-end designer collectibles inspired by Toho’s legendary kaiju franchise, including Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah, and Mechagodzilla. These toys often feature unique artistic interpretations, blending classic monster designs with modern and experimental aesthetics. Soft vinyl (sofubi) figures are a staple of kaiju collectibles, often hand-painted and produced in limited runs by brands like Marusan, Medicom Toy, and M1GO. These figures frequently showcase vibrant colorways, translucent elements, or glow-in-the-dark effects. Toho has worked with brands like Super7, Kidrobot, and BE@RBRICK, producing stylized versions of Godzilla and other kaiju, often in minimalist, graffiti, or streetwear-inspired styles. Companies like X-Plus, Spiral Studio, and Prime 1 Studio create ultra-detailed, limited-edition resin statues that reinterpret Godzilla and other kaiju in artistic, sometimes surreal ways. Some art toy brands produce exaggerated, cute, or surreal versions of Toho monsters, playing with proportions, expressions, and vibrant colors to give a fresh take on classic kaiju.
