About this Artist
Orange County, California based artist with an insatiable hunger to create monsters, creatures and characters. His appetite for the strange and unusual began at the age of 5 when he deviated from the mundane children's section of the local bookstore and came across a copy of Giger's Alien. Captivated by the design, the mood, the artistry-- He was doomed. His love for monsters and art making grew exponentially from his childhood and throughout his teens when he decided to pursue an art education in Los Angeles, CA. He studied classical art, technique and design at schools such as the Los Angeles Academy of Fine Art (LAAFA), Gnomon, Concept Design Academy, and Art Center. With fundamental art training under his belt, he found himself overwhelmed with career path options-- until he came across a class taught by Aris Kolokontes at Phoenix Atelier. The sculpting, the mold making, the resin casting-- He was doomed. His artistic influences include H.R. Giger, Beksinski, Chet Zar, Cam De Leon, Bosch, Rembrandt, Bernini, Jordu Schell, Casey Mixed media tends to refer to a work of visual art that combines various traditionally distinct visual art media. For example, a work on canvas that combines paint, ink, and collage could properly be called a "mixed media" work. When creating a painted or photographed work using mixed media it is important to choose the layers carefully and allow enough drying time between the layers to ensure the final work will have integrity. If many different media are used it is equally important to choose a sturdy foundation upon which the different layers are imposed. Many interesting effects can be achieved by using mixed media. Often, found objects are used in conjunction with traditional artist media, such as paints and graphite, to express a meaning in the everyday life. In this manner, many different elements of art become more flexible than with traditional artist media.
