About this Artist

Indie184, born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, is a graffiti artist and graphic designer hailing from Washington Heights, New York City. Growing up all over NYC she began to participate in the graffiti culture in 2001. Determined to express herself to the world through art, she quit business college to teach herself how to sew, paint and produce graphic design. Influenced by all things colorful, happy and sexy. She is known for her classic New York simple yet playful feminine graffiti style infused with exuberant bold colors bursting with hearts, stars and bubbles. You can find her graffiti pieces in the streets from the South Bronx to Oslo. Indie’s graffiti was featured the recordbreaking Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto IV video game. Her current endeavors include directing her streetwear brand Kweenz Destroy, curating art exhibitions and producing graphic design work for Pro-Keds, Super Rad Toys and Bic Plastics to name a few. Catch her painting in the streets, studio or or producing her next fashion collection. The Toy Art Gallery is the first gallery of its kind to showcase and consult on high-end art toys and sculptures. Our goal is to showcase exciting, original, and new artists who use figurative sculpture as their primary medium of expression. We also focus on showing, collecting, and producing high end, limited edition, custom, and life-size toy sculptures. Our showroom and gallery is located in Hollywood, California. One of our specialties is to provide availability on rare and desirable toys, life-size figures, bronze sculptures, and one-of-a-kind custom figures created by some of the leading artists/toy designers from around the world. We also have an incredible selection of aftermarket fine art originals and prints created by the leading pop surrealist and low brow artists working today. Our aim is to provide the best works from these artists at a fair market value and priced to fit a variety of budgets. May 5th marks the launch of the MY LITTLE PONY Project 2012 Art Exhibition, curated by Sweet Streets, and pop-up shop with a dazzling opening night celebration at Toy Art Gallery. Twenty-five notable artists have created their own one-of-a-kind painted MY LITTLE PONY 18-inch vinyl figures. The customized ponies will be available for sale during the run of the exhibition, ending May 26, 2012. Ten percent of the sales from the MY LITTLE PONY one-of-a-kind ponies will be donated to Give Kids The World. Music at the launch party will be provided by Dim Mak. Beginning the week of May 1, artists COPE2, Buff Monster, Indie184, and others will paint pony-inspired murals at Melrose boutiques De La Barracuda and Joyrich.
