About this work

A stylized, cartoonish figure wearing a helmet with a prominent face design. The figure appears to be in a seated position with its hands resting on its knees. The helmet has a distinct, rugged look with a face that has exaggerated features, including a beard and sunglasses. The figure's attire includes a shirt with buttons and a belt buckle. The overall design is in black and white, giving it a stark, graphic novel-like appearance.Lunartik in a Cup of Tea is a designer toy series created by British artist Matt JOnes (aka Lunartik). These collectible vinyl figures feature a stylized character sitting inside a teacup, blending a whimsical and minimalist design with a playful tea-themed concept. The original Lunartik in a Cup of Tea figure is a small, round-headed character with a simple face, often depicted with a tea bag tag hanging from the cup. The series includes Mini-Teas (smaller versions with various colors and flavors) and special edition teas, featuring collaborations, custom designs, and exclusive releases. Born into the greyness of England at the end of the Seventies, by the age of four Jon-Paul Kaiser knew that what he wanted to do in life was a draw. From that point he rarely strayed from that path; scribbling and doodling his way through School, College and University. After working with Porlzilla, Jon-Paul decided to go it alone concentrating at first on the toy customization scene, building up a name and strong reputation for himself with his stark Black & White custom style, influenced by comic book art, film noir & Ukiyo-e prints. This lead to him being approached by established toy producers for designs for their platform toys. Principally amongst these are Toy2R who have released numerous JPK Platforms. Lunartik’s Mini Tea Tour featuring 70+ custom works of art, created from Matt JOnes’ platform toy, Lunartik in a Cup of Tea. These artistic interpretations have been brewed to perfection by a fine selection of World Artists. The Mini Tea Tour debuts at the 43° Gallery in Berlin, then moves on to Vienna to the Sixxa store for spring, then off to the USA and to Dragatomi for summer, and lastly we see this year’s tour come to rest in Forbidden Planet’s Mega Store in London for the Christmas season.
