About this Artist

Born in London in 1970 and raised on a diet of Richard Scarry, Hergé, Judge Dredd and Albert Camus, Jarvis studied Illustration at the University of Brighton and the Royal College of Art, graduating in 1995. Since then he has gone on to establish himself as a graphic artist of international repute.In 1998 Jarvis designed the iconic toy figure 'Martin', unwittingly helping start the 'designer' toy phenomenon. In 2003 Jarvis, together with Russell Waterman and Sofia Prantera, established a company, Amos, to independently promote Jarvis' designs. To date Amos has released nearly 100 character toys, icluding the iconic King Ken and the mysterious and existential YOD. In 2006 Amos published the comic-book adventure story Vortigern's Machine and the Great Sage of Wisdom, co-written with Waterman. In 2007 Amos published a collection, James Jarvis Selected Drawings. Bounty Hunter is a Japanese brand and design collective founded in 1995 by Hikaru Iwanaga. It is best known for pioneering the fusion of punk, streetwear, and toy culture, heavily influenced by Japanese and Western subcultures. Bounty Hunter played a significant role in shaping Japan’s urban fashion scene and designer vinyl toy movement. The brand’s signature aesthetic includes dark, rebellious themes, often incorporating skulls, bold graphics, and influences from biker, punk, and sci-fi styles. One of its most recognizable creations is the BxH Skull-Kun, a vinyl figure with a skull-like head and cartoonish body, embodying the brand’s mix of edgy and playful design. Based in San Francisco, CA but catering to the world at large, STRANGEco creates and distributes unique, high-quality design-oriented consumer products. Working closely with contemporary artists from a variety of subculture art genres – pop surrealism, graffiti & street art, independent comics, illustration, graphic design and others – STRANGEco takes original character design and transforms it into beautiful three dimensional art objects.
