About this Artist

DrilOne is a New Yorker at heart and a San Franciscan by location. On the East Coast, he painted only 2d work; on the west coast, toys and other 3D objects are his preferred canvas. He began working with vinyl in 2005, and soon after stumbled upon the formula that would serve as his signature style. By taking a playful object and distressing it to, quite literally, its breaking point, Dril comments on oblivion, transience, and re-birth. Dril says simply: “I love rust, decay, history, ruins, military, skulls, vintage, and all this makes me who I am.” Art is in Dril’s blood. The son of a painter, he cannot imagine or remember life without drawing. He is a veteran of the New York City public school system and spent most of his life amidst the city’s chaos and creativity. His upbringing and admiration for contemporary, pop and graffiti artists are reflected in his work. The many inspirations that inform his art include abandoned amusement parks, insane asylums and old military bunkers. Dril has made a name for himself with his instantly recognizable visual expression, and his sought-after figures can be seen in art galleries and collections around the world. Standouts among Kathie Olivas is an internationally exhibited multi-media artist from New Mexico. Through her current body of work, the Misery Children, she explores society’s insatiable desire to assign ‘cuteness’ and our discomfort with the unknown. A dark blend of early American portraiture set in post apocalyptic times, Kathie’s paintings and custom toys are a satirical look at how fear affects our sense of reality. One of the central questions raised in Kathie’s work is that of ‘what if’: what if these ‘cute’ creatures had their own agenda? Are they attune to something beyond our understanding, or are we simply too cowardly to acknowledge it? Are their misshapen limbs and plated mouths a deformation from living in a desolate wasteland,or perhaps an adaptation for protection? The Misery Children are meant to evoke a nostalgic reaction that reflects isolation, fear and an uncertainty, yet they also act as empowered alter egos. While these characters explore their new lonely worlds, they double as our narrators. They guide us through their reality as they experience it and yet, even in their company, we are granted no reassurance. Circus Posterus began in 2000 as a small collective of fine artists, illustrators, gallery curators and collaborators working together to create exhibitions and art projects utilizing the diverse backgrounds of each of its members. The group officially evolved into an established company in 2007 by original founders Kathie Olivas and Brandt Peters. The internationally recognized fine artist couple dedicated their diversified backgrounds in original artworks, toy design, printmaking, packaging, marketing, “Brand” management, licensing and art event creation in order to create specialty products that allow other artists the time and motivation to expand their own markets. The CP studio has been providing their talents and skills to a cross section of national and international companies as well as numerous established and emerging contemporary fine artists. By allowing artists to do what they do best — creating art and interacting with their fan base, the company’s creators have delivered a new paradigm for its collectors and fans which offer internationally sought after original artworks as well as limited editions sculpture, prints, art toys, and a unique range of collectibles. Rather than each artist having to manage and produce their own merchandising, CP acts as not only a collaborator and producer, but also
