Hustle & Hype DCon Edition is only the inaugural event of the Hustle & Hype brand. We have several more pop-up exhibitions in the works, and aim to set up a more permanent show-space for Trampt in the coming year. This exhibition is not completely devoid of restriction, as we chose to focus only on customized toys. Designer Con felt like the ideal opportunity for showing these somewhat niche works of art, and continuing to introduce fans and collectors to these beautiful and incredibly unique objects. With over 30 artists from around the globe this will be a great chance to see some of your favorite customizers work up close. I got into doing customs toys in 2010, and what started as a hobby has turned into a lot more. I strive to do things I haven’t seen before. Custom toys are the only medium I’ve been able to look at, see exactly what I want in my head and then create it. My work technique ranges from the extraction of shapes, to threading, to the insertion of toothpicks or blocks. Regardless of the method, I always want my work to stand out. My customs have been shown at NYCC via Toy2R, as well as in several West Cost shows.
