About this Artist
For many years Rhys Cooper lived a double life, mild mannered clothing and fashion designer by day and poster artist by night (and weekends)... Graduated from Swinburne University in his hometown of Melbourne, Australia, he discovered the world of gig posters thanks to Beyond the Pale Posters in his 4th and final year. After the following 6 years in streetwear a decision was made to focus on posters and he hasn't looked back since. Rhys has proudly created work for bands such as Queens of the Stone Age, The Bronx, Them Crooked Vultures, Mark Lanegan, Rage Against The Machine and many others as well as working with the Alamo Drafthouse and the charity Movember. Lithography is a printmaking technique that involves drawing on a flat surface—traditionally limestone, though modern lithographs often use metal plates—with a greasy substance like a specialized crayon or ink. The fundamental principle behind lithography is that oil and water repel each other.
