The 2nd Annual Designer Toy Awards will be held at the historic Providence NYC, one of New York City's most opulent venues! Located in Midtown Manhattan, Providence NYC was formerly a church and then a recording studio, where The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Guns N' Roses, John Lenon and many other legends recorded their magic. With 35-foot cathedral ceilings, multiple levels and a world-renowned full bar and kitchen, we couldn't be happier with our home for this year's ceremony! The Designer Toy Awards will be held on October 13th, 2012 (during New York Comic-Con weekend). Doors open — and the party starts — at 8:00 pm. The first 50 non-professionals through the door will receive an awesome Goodie Bag! By day I work as a motion designer. By night I make customs. I got into doing customs toys in 2010, and what started as a hobby has turned into a lot more. I strive to do things I haven’t seen before. Custom toys are the only medium I’ve been able to look at, see exactly what I want in my head and then create it. My work technique ranges from the extraction of shapes, to threading, to the insertion of toothpicks or blocks. Regardless of the method, I always want my work to stand out. My customs have been shown at NYCC via Toy2R, as well as in several West Cost shows.
