i'm a dude. i like some things. i don't like some other things as much. Formed in 2004, October Toys, LLC is a purveyor of fine toys and collectibles with an artistic twist. The creative misfits who own October Toys, George & Ayleen Gaspar, have a lifetime of experience collecting toys and two decades combined experience working in the toy industry. While collaborating with a variety of new and established artists, they are focusing on expanding their existing product lines as well as adding entirely new projects to the queue. Designed by members of the October Toys forums and funded through Kickstarter, OMFG! (Outlandish Mini Figure Guys!) - Series 1, pay homage to Kinnikuman (Japan), M.U.S.C.L.E. and Monster in My Pocket (US) figures. Series 1 features designs by Charles Marsh/Monsterforge (MULTISKULL), Daniel Yu/Dory (CRAWDAD KID), Kyle Thye & Ralph Niese (PHANTOM S#*THOUSE), Dominic Campisi/The Evil Earwig (KING CASTOR) and John "Spanky" Stokes & George Gaspar (STROLL). Daniel Yu, also known as Dory, is a Singapore-based artist and toy designer renowned for his hand-sculpted, horror-inspired, and folklore-infused designer toys. His work is deeply influenced by mythology, history, and pop culture, blending elements of Asian folklore, sci-fi, horror, and street art aesthetics to create distinctive characters and figures. Unlike many toy designers who rely on digital sculpting, Daniel Yu hand-sculpts his figures using traditional techniques, giving them a raw, organic quality. His characters often feature grotesque, weathered textures, detailed wrinkles, and exaggerated facial features, evoking horror, mythology, and fantasy themes. Many of his works draw inspiration from Asian folklore and traditional warrior motifs, such as the Jiangshi (Chinese hopping vampire) and ancient terracotta warriors.
