About this Artist
‘Mr Clement’ is the artistic pseudonym for my work as an illustrator and sculptor. My inspirations come from comics, popular culture, porn and classical music. I work to soften the traditionally highbrow fine art by mixing it with popular sub-culture from the West and the East. I am constantly exploring a new and accessible platform to present my artwork and experiment with the concept of drawing and sculpture in different contexts. I produce friendly artwork in the form of graphic novel, animation and sculpture, Simplicity and Fun are important, as I see it necessary to have a more direct and pure way for people to understand artwork and to relate themselves to the work and the world beyond. Simplicity also allows artists to break down cultural boundaries. Self-produced art toys are designer collectibles created and manufactured independently by the artist or small teams without the backing of a large toy company or mass-market brand. These toys are often highly personal, artistic expressions and are usually made in limited runs. Key Characteristics include independent creation where the artist is in control of the entire process from concept, sculpting, and painting to production and packaging. These are usually made in small batches, often 10–100 pieces, which adds to their rarity, made using materials like resin, sofubi (Japanese soft vinyl), or 3D-printed components. Originating in its birthplace of Hong Kong in 2000 with stops in London, Paris, Sofia and Varna, mr clement, Petit Lapin, Ji Ja bird and their friends finally cross the Pacific as the World Tour makes it way to L.A. Represented in sculptures, figures, paintings and drawings and more, the troupe is ready to make their U.S. debut. The Toy Art Gallery is the first gallery of its kind to showcase and consult on high-end art toys and sculptures. Our goal is to showcase exciting, original, and new artists who use figurative sculpture as their primary medium of expression. We also focus on showing, collecting, and producing high end, limited edition, custom, and life-size toy sculptures. Our showroom and gallery is located in Hollywood, California. One of our specialties is to provide availability on rare and desirable toys, life-size figures, bronze sculptures, and one-of-a-kind custom figures created by some of the leading artists/toy designers from around the world. We also have an incredible selection of aftermarket fine art originals and prints created by the leading pop surrealist and low brow artists working today. Our aim is to provide the best works from these artists at a fair market value and priced to fit a variety of budgets.
