About this Venue

Get Up Gallery was opened on December 2nd, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Owner Derek Douglas is a Las Vegas native who graduated from UNLV in 2004 with a Bachelor Of Arts Degree. With many years of enjoying street art in its various forms, and eventually collecting work created by Street Artists around the world, the dream of opening a gallery with an emphasis on street art finally materialized. Based on the foundation of Derek Douglas’s popular online blog Drymounted.com, and the relationships he has built throughout the years with artists from around the world, the goal of bringing the streets from all cites to a gallery in Downtown Las Vegas is now a reality. Get Up Gallery prides itself on displaying the most talented street artists from all over, as well as those located in Las Vegas, under 1 roof. Get Up Gallery not only displays original artwork, but many exclusive limited edition prints, print sets and skateboard decks will be on display, which will appeal to collectors of all types. STATIC is the creative output of Tom & Craig who have been working together since 2006. Having met at art college, they began to share ideas and inspirations and then went on to complete BA degrees in Edinburgh and Liverpool. Initially returning to the North East of England to set-up their first studio, STATIC are now based in East London, where they continue to produce original work and screen printed editions in house and by hand. Their work combines elements of street art and fine art, merging a clean graphic style with stencils, spray paint, screen printing and paint brushes, to create unique pieces which have been exhibited on the streets of London as well as a number of International gallery spaces. 2010 saw their first solo exhibitions in the UK with ArtRepublic London and in Japan with Gallery Kawamatsu, Tokyo - and since then they have been developing and creating their 'layered glass' works, which deconstruct the stencil and screen printing processes they have been exploring since they began working together. These pieces were the focus of their second London solo show "Moments of Clarity" with Whisper Gallery earlier in 2012 and have also been exhibited in Singapore, Milan, Cyprus, Tokyo, Hiroshima Lithography is a printmaking technique that involves drawing on a flat surface—traditionally limestone, though modern lithographs often use metal plates—with a greasy substance like a specialized crayon or ink. The fundamental principle behind lithography is that oil and water repel each other.
