SWEET SIN

Three artists/illustrators/friends united their forces and put their spirit into one dear project called VATRAcollective. Located in the center of Bucharest, on 10Mavrogheni Str, the hearth of our venture is not only our workspace, but also a place where we exhibit our and others' creations, be they original artworks, prints or other kind of goodies, we organize various activities like workshops, drawing jams, movie projections, or simply meet and hang out in an open atelier atmosphere. The collective was founded in the autumn of 2011, focusing on lowbrow painting, illustration, street art, resin toys, limited edition prints, comics, etc. Resin casting is a method of plastic casting where a mold is filled with a liquid synthetic resin, which then hardens. It is primarily used for small-scale production like industrial prototypes and dentistry. It can be done by amateur hobbyists with little initial investment, and has been appropriated for the production of collectible toys, models and figures, as well as small-scale jewelry production. The synthetic resin for such processes is a monomer for making a plastic thermosetting polymer. During the setting process, the liquid monomer polymerizes into the polymer, thereby hardening into a solid.
