Located in the historic Little Tokyo area of downtown Los Angeles, Q Pop features beautiful interior design by Justin K Thompson. Q Pop opened it’s doors on Nov.12 2010 and strives to bring the best in worldwide creativity to you. CHRIS MITCHELL Co-owner Chris Mitchell is an illustrator , artist, and filmmaker. Chris graduated from Cal Arts and has gone on to design and write on many popular and groundbreaking animation projects. Ren and Stimpy, Power Puff Girls, Samurai Jack, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, to name a few. Chris was nominated for an Emmy for his work T9G (pronounced “Takug”) is a Japanese artist and toy designer known for his distinctive, surreal character designs and high-quality sofubi (soft vinyl) figures. With a background in sculpting and an eye for expressive, exaggerated features, T9G’s work often blends elements of horror, fantasy, and cuteness, creating creatures that are both unsettling and endearing. His signature characters, such as Rangeas and Byron, feature intricate textures, dynamic poses, and unique paint applications. T9G is also known for his collaborations with other artists and brands in the designer toy world, pushing the boundaries of sofubi production with innovative sculpting techniques and hand-painted details. His work is widely respected in the Japanese and global art toy scene, making him a sought-after figure for collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate the fusion of traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.
