Cavey is a plush series by A Little Stranger. Each Cavey is lovingly handmade in the UK and come in many breeds, each with their own unique personalities. Caveys love humans, but they’re very shy, so they disguise themselves as everyday objects so they can observe us. If you find one be sure to say “Hey Cavey!” because they just want to be friends! Behind every Cavey is a focus on unique, handmade, quality collectibles for grown ups. Each breed will be released in small numbers before being discontinued. Every Cavey comes in a drawstring bag, ready to keep him safe on his adventures with you! Self-produced art toys are designer collectibles created and manufactured independently by the artist or small teams without the backing of a large toy company or mass-market brand. These toys are often highly personal, artistic expressions and are usually made in limited runs. Key Characteristics include independent creation where the artist is in control of the entire process from concept, sculpting, and painting to production and packaging. These are usually made in small batches, often 10–100 pieces, which adds to their rarity, made using materials like resin, sofubi (Japanese soft vinyl), or 3D-printed components. To put it simply, Scott is a toy junkie. He's obsessed with collecting, designing, and creating toys. He draws inspiration from many areas, including pop culture, comic books, his family, and toys from his childhood. Scott prefers to elicit a sense of child-like wonder and nostalgia in his artwork. He enjoys working in both digital and traditional mediums, depending on his mood. Scott is happiest when he is working on multiple projects. He has self-produced numerous designer toys, including Otis and Otto, Tricycle Terror, Doc Von Block and Big Rollin’ Rascal. Since ’98, he has worked for the Walt Disney Company in the Entertainment Productions Department where he has designed pieces for various parades, venues and merchandise. Scott was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. At the age of 16, he moved to the West Coast. He currently resides in Los Angeles. A Little Stranger is the creative alias of Holly Astral, a UK-based artist and model maker renowned for her whimsical, creature-inspired art toys and plush designs. Operating from just outside London, Holly draws inspiration from animals, the natural world, and fantasy films to craft endearing and imaginative characters. Holly’s artistry is characterized by a fusion of soft textures, playful forms, and a gentle aesthetic that resonates with both children and adult collectors. Her most iconic creation is Cavey, a minimalist, bean-shaped character available in various materials, including plush, vinyl, and resin. Cavey has been featured in numerous themed releases, such as the “Toyconcaveysaurus” edition for ToyCon UK 2013.
