About this work
The image depicts a stylized, black-and-white illustration of a grand staircase leading upwards. The staircase is flanked by tall, arched structures with intricate designs. At the top of the staircase, there is a figure holding an umbrella. Another figure, dressed in a suit and wearing sunglasses, is positioned near the middle of the staircase, holding a briefcase. The overall atmosphere of the image is somewhat surreal and artistic.Born into the greyness of England at the end of the Seventies, by the age of four Jon-Paul Kaiser knew that what he wanted to do in life was a draw. From that point he rarely strayed from that path; scribbling and doodling his way through School, College and University. After working with Porlzilla, Jon-Paul decided to go it alone concentrating at first on the toy customization scene, building up a name and strong reputation for himself with his stark Black & White custom style, influenced by comic book art, film noir & Ukiyo-e prints. This lead to him being approached by established toy producers for designs for their platform toys. Principally amongst these are Toy2R who have released numerous JPK Platforms. The intention of fugi.me is to make supremely high quality lithographic prints, by cutting edge underground artists, available to the general public at a reasonable price point. Fugi is an acronym, standing for Fine Under Ground Images. Lithography is a printmaking technique that involves drawing on a flat surface—traditionally limestone, though modern lithographs often use metal plates—with a greasy substance like a specialized crayon or ink. The fundamental principle behind lithography is that oil and water repel each other.
