Uamou Enjoys a Cup of Tea!

Lunartik in a Cup of Tea is a designer toy series created by British artist Matt JOnes (aka Lunartik). These collectible vinyl figures feature a stylized character sitting inside a teacup, blending a whimsical and minimalist design with a playful tea-themed concept. The original Lunartik in a Cup of Tea figure is a small, round-headed character with a simple face, often depicted with a tea bag tag hanging from the cup. The series includes Mini-Teas (smaller versions with various colors and flavors) and special edition teas, featuring collaborations, custom designs, and exclusive releases. The custom tea tour was a touring show with exhibitions at Forbidden Planet London, Outland Gallery Amsterdam, sixxa store Vienna, Fat Buddah Glasgow, Richard Goodall Gallery Manchester, Iksentrik Bath and the final exhibition/auction at Kidrobot London! Ayako Takagi’s goal is to expand the world of UAMOU through picture books, figures, animation and jewellery, bridging the gap between the character movement and art/design. From a young age she was greatly influenced by her parents who were both jewellers. Growing up in a creative environment, Ayako had always been interested in drawing and making things. Whilst studying in London she started making and selling UAMOU products throughout Europe. After graduating from Camberwell College of Arts she moved back to Japan where she is working as an artist and designer on the international stage.
