About this Platform

Doraemon, the beloved robotic cat from Fujiko F. Fujio’s manga and anime, has been reimagined in numerous art toy collaborations, blending pop culture nostalgia with contemporary design aesthetics. These collectibles range from classic vinyl figures to avant-garde reinterpretations by renowned artists and brands. Medicom Toy has released multiple BE@RBRICK Doraemon figures in different sizes (100%, 400%, and 1000%), featuring the character’s signature blue-and-white look. There are also special editions, such as the Manga Version, which showcases original manga panels across the figure. Various Japanese toy makers, such as Secret Base and Bandai, have produced sofubi (soft vinyl) Doraemon figures, often with translucent bodies, glow-in-the-dark features, or skeletal X-ray designs. In addition to his work as an artist, Takashi Murakami is a curator, entrepreneur, and a student of contemporary Japanese society.
