myplasticheart presents When Hell Freezes Over 2 a group exhibition featuring custom one-of-a-kind pieces based on Lou Pimentel’s original character – Junior. A sequel to 2010’s first showing of Junior’s predecessor, Cranston Fellows Jr., this time around the baby incarnation takes the spotlight as he is transformed and re-imagined by a tremendous lineup of artists, the who’s who of today’s art toy scene. With over 30 artists on board this show will be a sight to see. Established in 2004, myplasticheart is a toy store and gallery dedicated to bringing the best in both the designer toy and contemporary art world together in one place. Located in the Lower East Side in New York City myplasticheart provides one of the largest selections of designer art toys anywhere. From mini figures to plush to art books and prints you will find a wide range of unique art and design products related to the designer toy culture. The myplasticheart gallery hosts monthly exhibits showcasing many contemporary underground pop and urban artists and illustrators from all over the world. myplasticheart has exhibited works by Julie West, Chris Ryniak, Shawnimals, Andrew Bell, Scott C., and Aya Kakeda to name a few. His work seamlessly blended graffiti aesthetics with pop culture references, resulting in unique and thought-provoking pieces. Task One’s creations were characterized by their intricate details and innovative use of materials. He was renowned for customizing vinyl figures, particularly the Dunny platform by Kidrobot, transforming them into elaborate art pieces that often incorporated elements of urban life and satire. Daniel Rowley passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire artists and collectors alike. His work remains a testament to the fusion of street art and designer toys, pushing the boundaries of both mediums.
