Platinum Taotie

Taotie is a unique fusion of a pig, a dragon, and a butterfly, always accompanied by a dragon bone mask. This mask grants him magical powers, and different masks bestow upon Zhulüe different identities! He rarely shows his true face to the world, only revealing his real appearance when indulging in food—complete with enthusiastic munching and chomping sounds Hotru — deriving from the Teochew dialect pronunciation of "鹤如" (Hèrú), meaning fun, cute, and interesting — offers a uniquely diverse experience: owners can change the appearance of their cat or dragon-pig hybrid figures with an array of masks. These range from foxes and deer to the Taotie, a mythical creature whose motif is iconic on ancient Chinese ritual bronzes. Designer Cai Runquan thus blends playful appeal with classical heritage, giving these collectibles a distinct Chinese character.
