I've always enjoyed displaying things sense a young age, toys and art have always been a big part of that. I doubt that many 12 year olds ask their parents to get them a glass dispay case for christmas and even though it may be old and not really fit the style of any of my other cases it still only holds the things most valuable to me.
It wasn't really until I started collecting 3A figures that I noticed a vast majority of collectors were using what appeared to be a rather expensive looking all glass case and thus I became intresting in knowing more about Detolf's. A little reasearch later and I realized they were actually alot cheaper then I had expected and so I bought two. Some time goes by and both cases are full and look amazing standing next to eachother. Easily one of the best investments I've made for my art room and I'll soon have to make two more.
But I know alot of people like to display in diffrent ways, so what's your toys home like?

I have done the Detolf route, but the all glass look didn't fit in with my decor, so I went back to my trusty IKEA and picked up some Hemnes cabinets (chose those with the storage drawers because while I horde like a champ, I despise clutter), so I've got figures displayed in cabinets and throughout my home. not sure if folks wanted pictures in this thread, so let me know if i should remove:

masao626 @Easily_Amused - thank you for the noteon the poster tubes, fixed it that same day! (sorry to hear you learned the hard way but appreciate you passing on the lesson-learned!). @theodoru - thank you!! about 12 years ago
Easily_Amused @ masao626 No worries! I'd actually recommend storing them flat and out of the tube if you can (it's not always an option). Bagsunlimited is a good site to get conservation and storage supplies (http://www.bagsunlimited.com/). Beats framing everything. about 12 years ago
I custom make display cases for my toys and sell them also. The best part is that they are dust proof and tamper proof. I will post some pictures.

Easily_Amused I for one look forward to seeing them! about 12 years ago
I use two relatively small (8" by 12" roughly) plastic display cases I got from the Container Store a couple years ago set up on an old shelf I have, with other figures in between, around, and on top the cases. One case has my dunny collection and the other has my Doktor A Mechtorians. Pretty simple and extremely cheap (I think the cases were around $5 each back when I snagged em).

Easily_Amused Cool, I'm looking forward to it. I can't wait to get mine set up, but can't until all the repairs/renovations are done on my place. about 12 years ago
I have them on top of my dresser, my tv, my desk, etc. I really need a bookshelf for them.

Easily_Amused Would you share a pic? I love seeing groupings. about 12 years ago
At time I have a small Detlofs like display for my dunny's and the rest is on my window bank that is full now.
Need to get at least two Detlofs for that stuff.

Easily_Amused Lucky! However, I'm thinking of setting up a saltwater aquarium for either Sea Horses or a small reef aquarium after the renovations get done here and I think that should hold my two kits interest, but also I'm looking into getting a curio cabinet. :) about 12 years ago
At the moment, all of my collections are in storage or going in storage, because I am about to do some remodeling/fixing earthquake damage that occured here in VA (I think it was last september?). However, I also just started collecting Art Toys and have been wondering about this myself. I'm going to get a display case (I think it will go next to my Television consul) Any idea of where to find some good designed ones? I'm tired of Ikea furniture.
