How many of you have KAWS in your collection?

I wonder how many collectors out there own KAWS. I never managed to get one, beside the small Bus Stop ones.

Would you even buy one from eBay?

I have one, the Dissected Black Milo.  It's okay, I suppose.  Mostly I bought it because I couldn't convince myself to pay for a Jason Freeny custom...

quijanoth Just scored a Moof yesterday. Pretty stoked. Not a half-skeleton, but it is a start. about 12 years ago

Maybe someday when Trampt has a giant gallery space, you know cause we're all super successful, then I would love to have a 4' Companion next to my desk. I guess I'lll have to be patient

I don't own any pieces, but I'd love a 4' Dissected or a No Future Companion.

I like KAWS work but after seeing all the fakes hitting ebay in recent months (pinincio's, lazz's, disecteds etc) I would be very worried about buying one on the aftermarket. The new fakes look spot on too which is a real worry.

Easily_Amused Fakes? As in Forgeries? How do you tell? about 12 years ago

Tominator-trampt-666f

Tominator Have a read of this article: http://toysrevil.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/about-those-kaws-bootleg-toys.html about 12 years ago

Easily_amused-trampt-2928f

Easily_Amused Wow, I can't really tell the difference. Are these pieces only showing up on ebay or do I have to be worried about buying it from a store? Also, how prevailent is this with other Art Toys? I've bought a few through ebay... about 12 years ago

Tominator-trampt-666f

Tominator Mostly just kaws i beleive due the money there is to be made in selling fakes - im no expert on the subject though so it could effect other toys too i guess but not that i know of about 12 years ago

Easily_amused-trampt-2928f

Easily_Amused Cool, I just got into Art Toys and didn't figure you would need a provinance for them like most fine art. I guess I will have to start looking into that. But, I doubt I've bought anything that would be faked. Thanks! about 12 years ago

The-army-of-the-twelve-donkeys-trampt-181f

Mister-Quiche m with kaws there is a website (labioligy i think) where there are a lot of bootlegs & even a kurf figure ( which has only appeared as part of kaws art, not in toy form so they are forward thinking!) i have also seen plenty of bootleg dunny & bearbricks of all sizes about 12 years ago

Easily_amused-trampt-2928f

Easily_Amused Right now I buy mostly Ron English and Frank Kozik. But, I'm adding Ashley Wood 3A. Does anyone know if they are being countfieted? I haven't bought any Bearbricks or Dunny's yet. However, I was watching some Kaws so this has been timely information for me! about 12 years ago

Tominator-trampt-666f

Tominator I can pretty much confirm there are no 3A fakes at present! But really do watch out for Kaws on ebay - very dodgy in my opinnion! about 12 years ago

Tominator-trampt-666f

Tominator PS - shoot me a PM if you are interested in any 3A as i have a couple of items on your 'wanted' list up for sale. about 12 years ago

Easily_amused-trampt-2928f

Easily_Amused Cool, thanks! I'm right now trying to find my legs on collecting them. I've been told about the 3A Wiki (and of course 3A's own site and blog), but do you know any other places to get indepth information/referncematerial? about 12 years ago

Theodoru-trampt-414f

theodoru v I just love that Pinocchio and I was very close to get fooled by those eBay Fakes. I was just a step away from getting one of those, not knowing that they are fakes. In the last moment I did some more internet research and realized that it was a scam. about 12 years ago

Easily_amused-trampt-2928f

Easily_Amused I'm glad you weren't Faked! I was tracking it on ebay (had no clue it was fake), but chose to Get Ron English Charlie Grin X-Ray instead. about 12 years ago

Tominator-trampt-666f

Tominator @Easily Amused - definately check out the 3A forums - a lot of good info on there! about 12 years ago

Easily_Amused They're even forging Android toys? Man... about 12 years ago

Only the Milo's appeal to me, the others, bleh... There are other artists work I would purchase before a KAWS.

I have the 100% and 400% dicected Be@rbricks in grey.....they are super dope. I make it a rule never to buy from overseas on his stuff because of fakerey...lol. I certainly want more but the prices on his toys are kind of steap and the people selling need to come back to reality on certain pieces. It would be one thing if they were really old or he became a more saught after artist like banksy status, but he is only middle of the road if you look at his peers.
