Being sick there isn't much to do except read, surf the web, or watch TV. So I've been surfing the web. I found this store I never heard of before selling Designer Art Toys called Wacko/ Soap Plant. To my surprise they had exclusive colorways of Frank Kozik's Gipper Reagan Bust (New Release reported nowhere else), Ludwig Van Bust, MechaNana, Ho Chi Minh Bust, Dead Ché Bust, and Big Army Man that I never heard of (even on the blogs) before. All are still available for sale (If you go to this site check out its other merchandise too! Really cool). I was so surprised I had to email Frank Kozik to make sure they were real (he confirmed it).
Now I'm curious if anyone else has stumbled onto this store, and what your experience has been? Do you know any other Designer Toy Stores that go unmentioned? Have you found colorways or pieces by artists you like that you never heard of before?

I just received this note from Soap Plant on FB:
Thanks for the link--they've been selling like hotcakes and we were wondering who gave the shout-out! Here's some breaking news: We just posted one more "previously unknown" Kozik limited edition. Spread the word!: http://soapplant.com/kozikmechabanana.aspx.
Get one now before they're gone...
*put in the word now.

Gary Baseman fans, they also have Toby Stuffed Figure for sale. It is:
From Gary Baseman's solo 2005 show "For the Love of Toby" at Billy Shire Fine Arts Gallery (a branch of Soap Plant's La Luz de Jesus Gallery) comes this fantastic stuffed pleather figure and print.
Measuring 16" tall, Toby is a freestanding figure with poseable arms and legs. The companion print, "Napoli Toby" measures 10" x 8" and is frame ready. The print and the doll are both signed and numbered; each pair has matching numbers and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Created in a limited edition of 200, the Toby figure and print are extremely rare and a valued addition to any art collection.

I purchased. I couldn't help it... Awesome pieces. My savings is going quick. LOL! I purchased through a phone call. The People at Wacko/ Soap Plant/ La Luz De Jesus Gallery are Friendly, extremely helpful, and all around awesome to deal with. I gladly recomend purchasing from them! I have already received a UPS Tracking Number and can't wait to have them in person.
If you haven't checked out the rest of the merchandise they offer, it's weird/wacky/cool/awesome and totally in my groove. I'm looking forward to picking up the Phrenology Bust (ceramic, and the Palmistry Hand (Ceramic) for Christmas (Unfortunatley that is about when I will recover from this recent bout of collecting fever, but hey at least it's for my birthday...[Yeah, weak excuse]) When I hear my fellow colectors refer to this hobby as their addiction, I now truely understand.
