First I have to say big thank to Luke Chueh for hooking me up with some of his work recently, and secondly a big shout out to Kirby over at Rotofugi for putting on two great shows that are opening tonight. The first 'I Am Your Plaything' featuring new work by Luke, I haven't seen the preview yet but I assume it's mostly paintings and hopefully a few prints so there is something within my price range. Really want the 'Blindbox Victory' piece featured in the header. Secondly a show by [a J★RYU]J★RYU[/a] titled 'The Ghost of You Haunted Me…' which I will be writing more about in another post.
Be sure to go check it out, show opens tonight September 7th from 7pm-10pm and runs until September 30th.
Rotofugifrom Luke:
Chicago based Rotofugi presents Luke Chueh's latest show, "I Am Your Plaything". Rotofugi has established itself as a respected retailer and venue in the art toy and gallery world. I thought this would be a prefect opportunity create a show inspired by my thoughts and experiences with toys and toy culture. This show is also a double bill with my friend and colleague Jesse "J*Ryu" Yu. If you're a fan of my work, I have little doubt you'll love his art too. This will be his first major exhibition. Also, this will be my first time visiting and showing in the great city of Chicago. If you're from the area, please come out and say hi.
