I'll admit that my attitude towards Gallery 1988 shows has gotten a little blasé. I love tv and movies, and cartoons from the 80s and early 90s sure tug at my hearstrings, but come on, how many pop-culture posters can one household own? At a certain point my living room will start to look like a movie house hallway, and frankly I already spend enough time directing (tiny) people from the screen to the bathroom.
That being said, the huge Star Trek nerd in me is pumped for next Friday's opening of The Official Bad Robot Art Experience at Gallery 1988 (West). They'll hold a reception from 7-10pm, and the show will remain up through May 18th (so maybe, just maybe, Keegan and I will get to see it). They've got a huge amount of big names paying tribute to JJ Abrams and 10% of the show's proceeds are going directly to The Mission Continues, a charity working to empower veterans hoping to become community leaders. If you're in the area, check it out a week from today, Friday, April 26.
