The cool East Coast shows are piling up and although this one is two weeks away, I could't wait to write about it. Lou Pimentel told me at NYCC last year that he picked up watercolors because he wanted to paint faster , but the series of watercolor portraits for his new show look incredibly thought out and beautifully detailed, and the enormity of his forethought is evident in the natural spontinaity of his style.
On the Art Whino Site the Visual Notes show is said to "come to life with a new expression and dimension that reaches beyond his previous works". I couldn't agree more. Check it out for yourself at Art Whino, opening Saturday August 17th from 8-11pm. The exhibition will run through September 17th.
