Sean Dove makes humorous, retro-inspired images with a strong sense of shape and color. His love of screen printing, comics and film have influenced his multidisciplinary approach to making things, be it posters or short films.
Sean lives and works in Chicago, IL, where he runs his one-man design studio And Thank You For Flying. Sean was born in Hawaii in 1979 and grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 2003 he graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2009 he left his role as Art Director at Devil's Due Publishing, and began freelancing full-time, specializing in screenprinting, comics, packaging, and iOS design. Clients include Hasbro, McDonalds, Marvel Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox, Shout! Factory, Lanard Toys, Wizards of the Cost, Capcom, Kunoichi, Alzheimer's Association and the American Heart Association. Some brands he's worked for include McDonalds Happy Meal, Play Doh, My Little Pony, G.I. Joe, Tonka, Transformers, and Dungeons & Dragons.
He shares a work space with the other members of 4 Star Studios, where they produce the iPad app Double Feature Comics.
