Deathead Mickey & Release Party at Toy Art GalleryTAG Brown exclusive and OG Deathead Mickey from David Flores
After seeing the initial sculpts back at SDCC '11 of the Deathead Mickey from David Flores and Bic Plastics I knew I had to figure out how to pick up this figure. Three of the five colorways have already been released: SDCC '12 Green, Blackbook Exclusive Yellow, and a Mintyfresh Exclusive Mono. The OG has been on pre-order for a few weeks now for $99 at a variety of retailers but the official drop will be at Toy Art Gallery with David on-hand for a signing Friday, October 12th from 6-8pm. TAG will have both figure available for sale, and if you want to hit up the event be sure to RSVP on their Facebook event page. I'm really hoping this means my pre-order is shipping shortly.... Celebrate TAG's 1st Anniversary at Melrose this SaturdayToy Art Gallery Anniversary Show 2012 on 9/15
This month has been Toy Art Gallery's first full year in it's new location on Melrose, and to celebrate they've invited 50+ artists to create exclusive editions, one-of-a-kind custom toys and works of art, limited edition apparel, and more. The 'TAG Anniversary Show' will open it's doors Saturday 9/15 starting at 7pm and it will run until 10pm. Blackbook exclusive Deathead Mickey on sale nowDeathead Mickey by David Flores & Bic Plastics
Last week DKE Toys started taking pre-orders on the OG Deathead Mickey which should start shipping late November for $90. I was pretty relieved when I found out it wasn't going to be an SDCC exclusive since I've been crushing over this figure since I saw the first sculpts from David Flores. It seems that Bic Plastics have teamed up with Blackbook Toys to release another super limited 50 piece colorway of Flores Deathead Mickey which retails for about $130. If you're interested in this version it seems that it can be picked up for pre-order right now at blackbooktoy.com, and if you want the OG just wait until November and you're local shop will probably have a few.... So for a few weeks I've been trying to figure out how to get someone to get me a Deathead Mickey by David Flores and produced by Bic Plastics which is being released at SDCC this year. However, now I'm torn between the OG Colorway and this newly announced Green Colorway available at the DKE booth #4728. Apparently it's $100 and limited to an edition of only 50 pieces.
